Nice review, I was impressed with both Foster and Harrelson in this film. I only saw this film recently and was a bit surprised it did not get more recognition when it was released.

I thought The Messenger was one of the best film's from 2009. I only caught it last year but was blown away by the performance of Ben Foster - I didn't think he was capable to be honest. A really top drawer film! My full review is here: http://www.top10films.co.uk/archives/8465

I really liked The Messenger. Both Harrelson and Foster are quite excellent and the movie sheds light on an overlooked ritual that occurs when the US is at war. I should give this a watch again. If you enjoyed learning more about this, check out Taking Chance with Kevin Bacon.

I love this film. I watched it recently in preparation to RAMPART which I also loved.

Ben Foster is amazing in this, my god isn't that the hardest job in the world?
