I like the new James Bonds better, it is more intense and serious. Just my opinion though. My dad was a big James Bond fan.

In reply to silveremulsion. While re-watching this, I kept thinking of Colonel Kurtz's immortal line: "The horror. The horror!" Such a terrible plot, such a terrible bunch of characters (Bond included) and a complete lack of coherent logic behind what was happening (as well as the dodgy CGI, something I think Bond can do without, if you ask me) make Die Another Day one of the worst Bond films ever. Glad we agree on this one!!

"Putting it bluntly, yes, Die Another Day is as bad as I remember." Say no more, Rodney! I've only seen this one once and it nearly ruined my love for Bond. I had wisely avoided it for years, until I got the idea to watch all the Bonds in order (unfortunately before I had the website). When I got to this one I expected it to be awful, but it was AWFUL! Worst Bond ever! By an over-the-top CG mile. But, I do think that the extreme backlash to this directly resulted in the producers wiping the slate clean and delivering the much more realistic Bond of the Craig era. So just for that, Die Another Day isn't completely useless. But before that, I thought for sure that Die Another Day killed the series. My recent post Badlands (1973)
