In reply to alysonkrier. I think the technical artistry on display here will require more than a couple of viewings to take it all in. The detail involved deserves more attention than it gets I think, so a couple of freeze-frame viewings might be just what the doctor ordered!!!

Nice review, I've been itching to see Gravity again just to relive the visual rush. For me, it was one of those rare films where my eyes could not get enough, I just waned to soak it all in and the fact that there was so much tension, danger and excitement made it more powerful.

Thanks Jack, this really is one of the great films of the last 12 months – hell, it's the best of the last four or five years easily. I don't think I've been this thrilled for two films at the Oscars in quite a while – Gravity will win all the technicals awards, but 12 Years A Slave might take the big gong for Best Picture. Which would be a shame, because they both deserve it….

Excellent review! Glad you liked it! It's films like Gravity that remind me why I love going to the cinema. You make an excellent point here, "Her arc as a character seems rushed, albeit by necessity, and the impact this has on her as someone we come to know becomes lesser for the void of time. It’s a small, minor quibble, but one worth mentioning."

My hope is that Gravity will appear just as good (just as thrilling and awe-inspiring) at home as it did in 3D Imax. Of course, there's no comparison but I hope the small screen doesn't impact its effectiveness. My recent post Top 10 Must See 1980s Teen Movies
