In reply to brikhaus. A surprising number of people I follow on twitter don't rate this one at all, and I don't understand why. I think it's a solid film, and a great debut for JJ Abrams' big screen career; the characters are all terrific, the MacGuffin is excellent and Hoffman's villain, while a relatively minor role, is perhaps the franchise's more memorable.

Great MI adventure. I really loved this one in the theater. I think it holds up well, although it has been a couple of years since I’ve watched it. Nice review, too.

JJ Abrams did a fantastic job with this movie. Particularly Philip Seymour Hoffman, who plays one of my favorite movie villains.

In reply to Dan. See, I thought the same, but i really like MI3 a lot. I think the addition of PSH adds a lot to it. Without him as a villain, the film wouldn't be anywhere near as good.
