In reply to Dan. As I mentioned above, I only stopped short of an A rating because I don't think the film is quite at the level of The Dark Knight, even though it never pretends it even wants to be. It's a good, solid action comedy film with minor "superheroics" thrown in.

Great review! So glad I preordered the zavvi limited edition steelbook as it was all sold out by the time I actually came back from the cinema. Just had me balling with laughter so much! Probably my favourite film in all of the general blanket of Marvel movies (Sony, Fox and all, although Spidey 2 might still have it beat).

Can't wait to see this! Good piece Rodney - from what I'd seen/read about the film I thought it was almost guaranteed an A-rating but I'll pull back my expectation a little so as to not be disappointed. Interesting to see you applaud Miller's direction and even I'm warming to the charms of Ryan Reynolds and I haven't even seen his "career-making turn" yet. Probably not, no. Glad you enjoyed this film as much as I did – I didn't rate it an A because it's not the dramatic classic The Dark Knight was – and I cannot wait to revisit this one on BluRay in a few months time.
