German producer Bernd Eichinger passed away this week, at the relatively young age of 61. Eichinger was one of the producers of The Neverending Story &#8211; one of my all-time favourite 80&#8217;s movies. Aside from that, he also produced films such as <em>The Name Of The Rose<\/em>, <em>Prince Valiant<\/em>,<em> Resident Evil 1, 2 &amp; 3<\/em>, and the Tim Story directed <em>Fantastic Four<\/em> franchise. Perhaps the most critically acclaimed of all his films was Oscar nominated Hitler film, <em>Der Untergang<\/em> (aka <em>Downfall<\/em>), which I think remains one of the defining examinations of Naziism <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">ever<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mr Eichinger passed away on January 24th.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I hate it when part of my childhood dies.
