{"id":17829,"date":"2011-06-26T00:01:47","date_gmt":"2011-06-25T13:31:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.fernbyfilms.com\/?p=17829"},"modified":"2011-06-25T09:37:31","modified_gmt":"2011-06-24T23:07:31","slug":"vale-fred-steiner","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fernbyfilms.com\/2011\/06\/26\/vale-fred-steiner\/","title":{"rendered":"Vale &#8211; Fred Steiner"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<figure id=\"attachment_17830\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-17830\" style=\"width: 250px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-17830\" title=\"fredsteiner\" src=\"http:\/\/www.fernbyfilms.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/fredsteiner.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"356\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-17830\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Fred Steiner - 1923-2011<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Accomplished film and television score composer Fred Steiner has passed away.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Steiner wrote a large amount of music for the original <em>Star Trek<\/em> television series, composed the theme to <em>Perry Mason<\/em> and <em>The Bullwinkle Show<\/em>, and arranged scores for episodes of <em>Lost In Space, The Twilight Zone, Amazing Stories, Gunsmoke, Hawaii Five-O, Rawhide, The Untouchables, Tiny Toon Adventures, Dynasty<\/em> and <em>Hotel<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">His feature film scores include <em>Run For The Sun<\/em> and <em>The St Valentine&#8217;s Day Massacre<\/em>, and he was nominated for an Oscar for his work with Quincy Jones (among others) on Steven Spielberg&#8217;s <em>The Color Purple<\/em>. He also performed orchestration work on other film scores (often uncredited), including <em>Star Trek: The Motion Picture<\/em> and <em>The Greatest Story Ever Told<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mr Steiner passed away on June 23rd.
