American actor Scott Wilson, known for roles in The Walking Dead<\/em> and his breakout role in The Ninth Configuration<\/em>, has passed away.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Mr Wilson landed roles in late-60’s playing accused murderers in In The Heat of The Night<\/em> and In Cold Blood<\/em> (both 1967), as crazy skydiver Malcolm Webson in The Gypsy Moths<\/em> (1969) and as Slim Grissom in 1970’s The Grissom Gang<\/em>. Wilson would garner a Golden Globe nomination for his performance in William Peter Blatty’s 1980 film The Ninth Configuration<\/em>, and would appear in astronaut drama The Right Stuff<\/em> in 1983.<\/p>\n

Mr Wilson would appear in two sequels in 1990, The Exorcist III<\/em> and Young Guns II<\/em>, would play minor parts in Walter Hill’s Geronimo: An American Legend<\/em>, the Stallone sci-fi flick Judge Dredd<\/em>, and in Ridley Scott’s GI Jane<\/em>, before appearing in Christopher McQuarrie’s crime flick Way of The Gun<\/em> and as General Marshall in Michael Bay’s Pearl Harbor<\/em>. Other notable films to his credit include Patty Jenkins’ Monster<\/em>, opposite Tom Cruise in The Last Samurai<\/em>, as a doctor in South Korean cult monster hit The Host<\/em>, and in the Farrelly Brother’s Ben Stiller flick The Heartbreak Kid<\/em>. His final big-screen role was in last year’s western drama Hostiles<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Scott Wilson also had a recurring role in long-running horror television series The Walking Dead,\u00a0<\/em>and had appeared in guest roles on a number of other shows including The X-Files, Law & Order<\/em> and The OA<\/em>.<\/p>\n
