{"id":9567,"date":"2009-09-26T20:59:43","date_gmt":"2009-09-26T11:29:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.fernbyfilms.com\/?p=9567"},"modified":"2009-09-26T21:10:33","modified_gmt":"2009-09-26T11:40:33","slug":"ong-bak-2-trailer-prepare-for-unerwhelmation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fernbyfilms.com\/2009\/09\/26\/ong-bak-2-trailer-prepare-for-unerwhelmation\/","title":{"rendered":"Ong Bak 2 Trailer &#8211; Prepare for underwhelmation!!!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">People who have known be for a while, and even those who don&#8217;t, will know I will always speak with glowing, reverential terms about Tony Jaa&#8217;s debut film <em>Ong Bak<\/em>, quite simply one of the most brutal martial arts films ever made, at least since Bruce Lee left us. <em>Ong Bak<\/em> was uncompromising, stylish, low-budget class, such a bar-raiser from standard Hollywood fare that it couldn&#8217;t help but be elevated into the prime category of &#8220;cult favourite&#8221; status by genre fans ever since.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">And now we have the teaser for the sequel, <em>Ong Bak 2: The Beginning<\/em>, and a masterfully <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">ordinary<\/span> trailer it is. Tony Jaa, the king of current martial arts cinematography and action, has a bigger budget, better effects, no doubt a more convincing storyline (the story in<em> Ong Bak<\/em> was a little lame, to be honest) but this trailer has left me feeling a little&#8230; well, underwhelmed. Take a look and see if you agree with me.
